-Biography – Stefan Roos
Stefan Roos has developed his own artistic language independently, without following external role models. His works are created in mixed media directly on canvas and exist within the field of tension between abstraction, form, and figuration. His paintings are vibrant, multilayered, and driven by a strong inner dynamic.
A central and recurring symbol in his work is the sine wave accompanied by a dot [~°]. This sign represents the fundamental dualities of life: positive and negative, plus and minus, day and night, yin and yang, stillness and movement, tension and balance. The dot symbolizes the artist’s head – the conscious center within these opposing forces. Viewed abstractly, the flowing lines of the sine wave also reveal the artist’s initials, S & R. The symbol thus becomes a deeply personal and unmistakable signature.
Another recurring element in Stefan Roos’s work is the presence of female forms and silhouettes, which enter his visual language in different ways. At times, they appear subtly and almost hidden within abstract structures; at other times, they emerge more clearly and become immediately recognizable. Rather than serving as purely figurative representations, these forms explore the interplay of shape, movement, sensuality, and perception. The female form thus becomes an organic element of his artistic vocabulary while leaving room for the viewer’s own interpretation.
From early childhood, Stefan Roos has drawn and painted with great passion. For him, art is not merely an activity but a lifelong calling. Since 2003, he has devoted himself intensively to his artistic practice. His works strive to be vibrant, engaging, and imaginative, characterized by depth, precision, and inner coherence.
With more than 23 years of intensive artistic experience, shaped by formal education and extensive self-directed learning, his so-called original style emerged at an early stage. His first works were created on paper and cardboard before he increasingly began working on stretched canvas. Already during this early phase, Roos perceived something unusual in his paintings: a work that appeared to be in motion. This moment marked the beginning of his artistic career and the development of his distinctive mixed-media technique.
Since then, hundreds of unique works have been created and presented in numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally. His artistic work is increasingly receiving international attention. Stefan Roos is currently represented internationally through ARTBOXY, where his work is presented to an international audience.
Another significant international presence comes through his participation in Culturlab, a global art project bringing together artists from different countries. Stefan Roos is represented by 16 artworks in this project. The international art book is scheduled for publication in New York in autumn 2026. The project connects artists from around the world and provides another platform for international artistic exchange and visibility.
International Media Presence
The work of Stefan Roos is also receiving increasing attention in international art media and digital art platforms. His artistic work has already been published on several international platforms, including USA.News, FineArtNews.com, and ArtReviewUSA.
Another international publication is scheduled for August 17, 2026, on Aatonau, a renowned Japanese art platform. This further expands the international media presence of his work and introduces his art to an additional audience beyond Europe.

These two international awards, together with the associated presentations in Cannes, Monaco, and Barcelona, represent an important chapter in the international development of Stefan Roos and further expand the visibility of his work across European art platforms.
Further international collaboration requests have followed, including from New York, Miami, and Italy. Each artwork is a unique original and protected by copyright.
Today, Stefan Roos understands art as pure passion and an ongoing process. Standing before a white canvas represents a state of both maximum concentration and absolute freedom. His ideas arise from what feels like an inexhaustible source – the creative process begins the moment color touches the surface.
Since 2012, he has signed his works exclusively with the sine wave and dot [~°]. This conscious decision was made to preserve the visual harmony between the artwork and its signature. Earlier works are gradually being adapted to include this distinctive mark.
